Doors new sea lock

The doors of the new sealock in IJmuiden are on their way to the Netherlands. On Tuesday night 23/10/18 the doors were left by ship from South Korea. The expectation is that they will be on the road for about two months. In total, three doors are transported. This involves two operational lock gates, for which the door seal is now being sunk in IJmuiden and a reserve lock door. The lock gates are 72 meters long, 24 meters high and 11 meters wide. They weigh about 2,900 tons each. The doors are on their side on a so-called heavy-duty ship. The ship is 45 meters wide, the doors are 72 meters and thus stabbing a good deal.
